SBI to support solar streetlighting under CSR
State Bank of India is going to support solar streetlighting under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Addressing mediapersons after inaugurating Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SME) branch in Rajahmundry near Syamalanager centre on Wednesday, Hannah Rachel Mani, Deputy General Manager (B Administrative Office, Vijayawada, said that they would select 3 to 5 villages in all 8 SBI regions in her area, where agriculture advances returns were high and support erection of solar based street lighting system. She said that this was apart from regular CSR activities like supplying water purifiers, ceiling fans to schools, providing ambulances in East, West Godava tiffany uk ri and Krishna districts. Replying to a question she said that their spending on tiffany uk CSR out of profits was only one per cent.
Ms. Mani also announced that within a month’s time all the important SBI branches were going to have Cash Deposit Machines (CDM) and they already tried such one at Danvaipeta branch.
The DGM said they had given advances to the tune of Rs.984.28 crore to agriculture, Rs.819.31 to personal segment customers and Rs.510.66 crore to SMEs in last financial year and the region earned Rs.90.51 crore profit.
They had opened 13 branches in the city and 33 in the region and the new branch would serve those customers who exceeded the credit limit of Rs.5 crore. P.
